We define friendship in thousands of ways. However, even if we define it if we do not put to life our own interpretation of the word, it will then be useless. Thus, if you define a friend as someone who is true person, you must be a true person as well. If you want a friend to be there in times of needs, you must also be willing to do the same.
The problem with some people is that they tend to define friendship as a one way relationship. Yet, they failed to realize that it will only succeed if it becomes a two way process. You have to make sure that you give what you receive. This should not be through coercion, but of your willingness to really give what you wanted to. This is why true and solid friendship remains forever. Yet, a friendship founded on hatred, jealousy, and insincerity will never last forever. It will stay that way.
